Công dân Hoa Kỳ khi đi du lịch đến bất kỳ quốc gia nào trên thế giới có quan hệ với Mỹ, trước khi khởi hành nên mở 1 account để ghi danh với bộ Ngoại Giao Hoa Kỳ về lịch trình, chuyến đi, địa chỉ, số điện thoại liên lạc, tên khách sạn, thành phố dự định cư ngụ khi du lịch, để được toà đại sứ Mỹ giúp đỡ trong trường hợp khẩn cấp.

Việc ghi danh này đơn giản và hoàn toàn miễn phí, nhưng rất có lợi trong trường hợp bị mất passport, bị nhà cầm quyền sở tại bắt giử v.v...

Sau khi ghi danh, chúng ta sẽ được thông báo các tin tức về quốc gia mình sắp đến rong trường hợp bị các bệnh dịch, bị chiến tranh, khủng bố v.v...

Đặc biệt là khi du lịch Việt Nam, nếu bị Trung Cộng tấn công, bị đảo chánh hay có nổ súng để tranh giành quyền bính trong nội bộ Cộng Sản Việt Nam, qúi vị và các bạn sẽ được ưu tiên di tản.

The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service provided by the U.S. Government to U.S. citizens who are traveling to, or living in, a foreign country.

STEP allows you to enter information about your upcoming trip abroad so that the Department of State can better assist you in an emergency.

STEP also allows Americans residing abroad to get routine information from the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.
